Our mission

The mission of the New Hampshire Occupational Therapy Association is to advance the practice of occupational therapy in our state. We will accomplish this mission by supporting OT practitioners with education, mentorship opportunities, and fostering communities.  We will advocate for the profession's growth and quality at the local, state, and national level. NHOTA will raise awareness an educate the public on the unique contributions of occupational therapy.

Legislative Note

Practice Act

It's official! Governor Sununu signed HB 109, the occupational therapy practice act, into law which will take effect July 18, 2023!  A huge thank you to all of our volunteers, members, and legislators for working together to make this happen. Rules for school based therapists will need to be changed for the full effect to make a difference and we are already looking ahead to the next phase of work! Congratulations everyone!

There is more work to be done!  Now that the law will change in July, rules around needing a referral in the schools must be changed.  Stay tuned as we continue to work on aligning rules with law. Please check back frequently for updates, especially regarding Medicaid to Schools. To view the full updates, please log in to your membership and view the legislative tab
